Hard-to-find mattresses, found
Standard stores sell standard beds. If yours is an RV short queen, a 3/4 antique frame, a truck sleeper, an Alaskan king or a size nobody stocks, or you need a certified organic or latex-free mattress, you end up checking dozens of maker sites one by one. We did that work and put it in one place. We’re independent: not a mattress brand or a store.
Who runs Bedwright

Bedwright is run by Melt Media Group. Its founder, Tim Sumerfield, has worked in the mattress industry for more than 25 years. He started on a mattress factory floor, learning how mattresses are built, and in 2009 founded a mattress recycling company that now operates nationwide.
That business has taken apart more than 1 million mattresses from every major brand, from RVs, semi-trucks, homes and hotels. Seeing what’s inside after years of use teaches you what holds up, and which frames fail.
It also teaches you how hard some beds are to replace. The people whose mattresses he hauls away ask the same questions again and again: where do I find a short queen for my RV, a 3/4 for an antique frame, a certified organic mattress, a frame that won’t break? Most stores don’t stock them, and the answers are scattered across dozens of maker sites. Bedwright puts them in one place, checked to the inch.
Tim writes about what he finds inside mattresses at Mattress Recycling Guy ↗.

- 948hard-to-find mattresses
- 119makers
- 23odd and oversized sizes
- 555frames, bases, toppers and sheets
What we cover
- Odd, RV, truck and oversized sizes, sold in exact inches.
- Mattresses made to order in any size, from online makers and local factories.
- Specialty types: certified organic, natural latex, latex-free, fiberglass-free, for heavier people, and kids’ and crib mattresses.
- Bedding for those beds: sheets, toppers, frames and bases in odd sizes, heavy-duty frames, and specific styles people search for.
- Everyday standard-size mattresses aren’t here: plenty of sites cover those.
Sizes, to the inch
- A mattress is listed in a size only when its maker’s own size list gives those inches. A 48 × 74 is never listed as a 48 × 75, and a 60 × 74 short queen is never listed as a 60 × 75.
- Sizes a maker publishes off-standard are shown “as listed” and kept off the size pages.
- We haven’t slept on these mattresses. Where an independent tester has, we say who and link their review.
Evidence for every specialty
- Organic means the maker states a GOTS or GOLS certificate for the finished mattress, linked on its page. A certificate for one layer is shown, but doesn’t make a mattress “organic” here.
- Latex-free and fiberglass-free mean the maker says so. Makers who don’t mention it aren’t listed, so these lists aren’t every such mattress.
- “For heavier people” means independent reviewers found it supportive above about 230 lb, or the maker builds it for heavier sleepers.
- Best picks come from what independent reviewers (Sleep Foundation, RTINGS, Mattress Clarity, Sleepopolis and others) found in their testing, never from commissions.
Where to buy
- Online: the maker’s own page for your exact size when it publishes one, with that size’s price.
- In person: a store appears only for the specialty we can show it carries, from a brand’s own store finder, a brand showroom, or the maker’s own website. Always call before you go.
Prices
- Prices are what the seller’s site showed on the date we checked, and we show that date. We re-check them every month; they’re often sale prices, and they change.
Owner reviews
- We paraphrase a few likes and dislikes from places owners post, each linked to its source, and never from sites that ask automated tools to stay out.
- Reviews hosted on the seller’s own site are labeled that way. No star ratings, and no “customers agree” claims.
Money
- Some “See price” links may earn us a commission if you buy. That never decides what we list, how lists are ordered, or what a page says.
What we never do
- Invent ratings, testing, stock, prices or certifications.
- Treat a near-miss size as a fit.
- Claim a store has a mattress in stock.
Contact and corrections
Spot a size that doesn’t match, a certificate that’s lapsed, a price that’s changed or a store that’s closed? Tell us and we’ll check it against the source and fix the page. Makers and stores can ask to correct a listing the same way.
The email address goes live with the site’s own domain.
Facts change. Every page links to its sources so you can check them.
