An organic mattress is made with certified organic materials, such as organic cotton, wool and latex, checked by an independent certifier. People choose one to avoid synthetic foams and flame-retardant chemicals, especially for a child’s bed or if they’re sensitive to smells.
We’ve gathered every organic mattress we could find into one list: 108 from 20 makers, in every size they come in.
How we check: Certified organic as a whole mattress: the maker states a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) certificate for the finished product, linked on each mattress page. Certificates for one layer only (organic wool, say) are shown but don’t qualify a mattress on their own.
