When no stocked size fits (an RV with a cut corner, an antique frame, a boat berth, a bed you built), these makers build a mattress to your inches. Every mattress here is listed by its maker as made to order or available in custom sizes.

How custom ordering works

  1. Measure the platform. Width and length, every corner (square, cut or rounded) and the height you can fit. How to measure
  2. Send the maker your numbers for a quote, with a sketch for any odd shape.
  3. Confirm the inches in writing. Custom mattresses usually can’t be returned.

How do I order a custom-size mattress?

Measure the platform (not the old mattress), note any cut or rounded corners and the height limit, then ask the maker for a quote with those numbers. Most custom mattresses can’t be returned, so confirm the inches in writing.

How long does a custom mattress take?

Usually one to four weeks to build, plus shipping. Each maker’s page gives its current time.

Is a custom mattress more expensive?

Usually somewhat more than the nearest standard size from the same maker, and much less than a mattress that doesn’t fit.
