GOOD FIT COMES FIRST
A little space.
A lot of possibility.
Daybeds, trundles, bunks and wall beds each have their own fit rules. Start with the furniture requirements, then compare what works within them.

Daybeds
Measure the usable sleeping surface, then check foundation requirements and how bedding will fit around the frame. A daybed is a use case, not a unique standardized mattress size.
Trundles
Check the maximum mattress height with the trundle stored underneath the upper bed. Include bedding and any topper in the clearance check.
Bunks
Use the exact size and maximum thickness specified by the bunk manufacturer. A thinner or smaller mattress is not automatically a safe substitute.
Murphy beds
Ask the wall-bed manufacturer for its mattress size, thickness and weight range. The lifting mechanism may depend on mattress weight, so a lightweight mattress is not automatically compatible.
