What is a split king adjustable bed?
Two twin XL adjustable bases (each 38 × 80″) placed side by side to make a king (76 × 80″). Each side raises and lowers on its own, so partners can sit up or sleep flat independently.
Do I need two mattresses for a split king?
Yes, usually two twin XL mattresses, so each side can bend. Some makers sell one king mattress with a split head (split-top) for bases that only split at the head.
Will king sheets fit a split king?
Not well. A king fitted sheet can’t bend at the split. Use split king sheets: two twin XL fitted sheets with one king flat sheet.
Can a split king base go in my bed frame?
Often, if the frame’s open center fits two twin XL bases side by side and the base sits at the right height. Check each base’s outside size and whether it can sit inside a frame.
