Yes. Most bases have headboard brackets or sell a bracket kit; you bolt a standard headboard to them. Wall-mounting the headboard is the other option, and it keeps the headboard still while the base moves.
No, most standard headboards with bolt holes work with the base’s brackets. Check that the bracket spacing matches your headboard’s bolt holes and that the headboard is tall enough to show above the mattress.
It can, on bases that don’t move toward the wall. Wall-hugging bases slide back as they rise, which keeps you closer to the headboard. Leave a small gap and check before tightening.
